Friends of Anfield (FoA) formed a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in April 2015 to champion community stewardship and responsibility for our collective cultural heritage. A natural responsibility for communities to own and nurture cultural resources defines our role.
FoA will act as a catalyst to grow stronger communities, with improved wellbeing, through inclusive awareness of our cultural heritage in Anfield and Liverpool.
Working in partnership with Liverpool City Council (LCC) and Historic England (HE), we will promote a renaissance of celebration and commemoration of past and contemporary culture within these high quality public ‘cemetery gardens’.
Renewing purpose in these spaces through community involvement and investment, we can bring vitality and viability to both the landscape and redundant structures, and tackle the challenges of depleted resource within our Local Authority to appropriately maintain these assets in perpetuity.
